I was so fortunate to be referred to Chris Winstead when I decided to purchase my home in San Antonio. Chris and his team were fantastic. Overall, a very good agent. Chris helped us with both buying and selling. The buying process was disproportionately stressful compared to the selling, but I stress that this was entirely on account of the builder/lender, and not Chris himself. It's worth noting my partner and I are both disabled military veterans, and Chris assisted us with information on our benefits in buying a new home. Without going into specifics, there were some hiccups along the way with the sale process; in terms of spending, invoices, and communications with regard to these processes. The only thing I would caution to both Chris and future clients is to keep an open line of communication, explanation, and transparency. I feel that some parts of the sale process were lost in translation or skipped over entirely, and came back to bite us all collectively come closing time. Despite this, Chris is a savvy agent and was both reasonably and exceedingly accommodating throughout. Chris can be described as passionate, friendly, optimistic, driven, goal-oriented, intelligent, compassionate, understanding, insightful, and came through to produce results. Were mistakes made along the way? Yes, but he's human and no agent(or person) is perfect. All I ask is that, in the future, he slow down and remember that some of his thought processes and planning require explanation and acknowledged approval before moving forward; no matter how experienced of an agent one is. Our family was in a very transient period while we worked with Chris, so I believe that our restricted availability played a part in some of the more hurried parts of our sale. But I also believe Chris's optimism resulted in expectations that were set far above what was "realistic" according to the market by the time our house listed for sale and ultimately closed. There is always going to be a level of trust from the client in expectation that a skilled agent knows what they are doing, and Chris absolutely knows the nuances of his craft. He just needs to be a little more thorough to avoid simple mistakes. Despite the bumps in the road, I would still highly recommend Chris Winstead for both purchase and sale. He's generally very easy to talk to and puts in the hard work to achieve the end result. Thank you very much for working with us.
